EEI was responsible for temporary shoring design for multi-stage reconstruction of I-95 in Philadelphia, PA. Under our Design Group, six cofferdams were design and installed, along with temporary excavation support for seven bridges, three retaining walls, and a sanitary sewer and water main relocation. To minimize tie-back anchors on most of the bridges, grading and design of struts were designed to support the shoring supporting the highway, which were as tall as 28 feet. Value engineering assistance was overseen by EEI during the redesign of one of the bridge foundations where costly caissons were replaced with steel H-piles. EEI also prepared final foundation reports for seven retaining walls.
