Understanding the complexities of your construction project can be a struggle when certain problems arise. Geotechnical services can give you insight into the proper foundation that your project needs, the appropriate retention wall to build, earthworks, rock excavation, and groundwater control. Environmental services can help reduce the risks of environmental contamination and remedy the problem quickly, helping to prevent future liabilities. Let’s look at how both services from Earth Engineering can benefit your project.
How Geotechnical Services Can Benefit You
Geotechnical services can provide various benefits for your excavation or foundation project. With geotechnical investigation services, you’ll receive reliable data that can be used to formulate value-driven solutions. These services will work regardless of what kind of project you are working on or the complexity of the site.
We’ll take the foundation and material data and present pragmatic construction solutions. This process will lead to cost-effective builds and safer construction sites. In addition, you’ll have even greater confidence in the most complex projects from the time you break ground to their completion.
The services of performing geotechnical investigations establish the most reliable picture of the subsurface conditions. Additionally, it evaluates the different foundation options for every project. The result is a combination of cost-effectiveness with a well-engineered foundation system.
Geotechnical design can provide foundation recommendations for any kind of project you are working on, whether commercial, residential, or industrial, and they will support the subsurface findings of the geotechnical investigation. The recommendations will be based on what type of subsurface conditions are at your site. For example, deep foundations will be recommended when the soil substrate is too weak.
This service can also assist in the development and design of retaining walls. They can be used for residential, industrial, commercial, and transportation projects. Geotechnical construction in NJ and the surrounding region is highly beneficial for all aspects of your construction site.
How Environmental Services Can Benefit You in New Jersey
A Phase One Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is an important service to be performed when ownership of a property is transferred, or a lender becomes involved in development. If a Recognized Environmental Condition (REC) is identified it’s important to stay on top of any environmental issues at your project site. You don’t want them to grow into anything larger that could potentially be a liability. When environmental testing in NJ identifies a REC and there becomes a need for clean up of a contaminated site then the services of a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) come into play. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (“NJDEP”) changed the process for conducting environmental investigations and cleanups. In May 2009, the Governor signed the Site Remediation Reform Act (“SRRA”) into law. SRRA established a licensing program for Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (“LSRPs”) who have responsibility for oversight of environmental investigation and cleanups. LSRP services are provided on a needed basis and conducted in accordance with NJDEP requirements and the New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA). These services generally include the direct oversight, supervision, and implementation of environmental remediation to issue the Response Action Outcome (RAO) letter.
In general, most remedial sites will involve the completion of the following forms:
- LSRP Notification of Retention Form
- Preliminary Assessment / Site Investigation Form
- Remedial Action Report Form
- Receptor Evaluation Form
- Remedial Investigation Report Form
- Case Inventory Document Worksheet
- Response Action Outcome Form
- Annual Remediation Fee Reporting Form
The LSRP will coordinate the preparation of forms and worksheets with the municipality representatives to procure and issue any RAO letters that would be required.
