EEI recently performed a geotechnical investigation for National Energy Partners and recommended helical piers for the support of parking lot solar canopies. The project was unusual as the site had been developed on a former municipal landfill so there were several steps required as precaution before the test borings could be performed to ensure the integrity of the site was not compromised.
