SEPTA is rebuilding a portion of the Media Elwyn line, including reconstruction of bridges that cross a stream and Route 1 in Wawa, Pennsylvania. Large excavations within the soil and bedrock are required for the new bridge foundations. To minimize the extent of material that would be disturbed, EEI designed a large shotcrete wall that was supported by soil nails and rock anchors.
